About IDEC

Since 1968, IDEC has served Seattle’s Chinatown (as well as the broader International District) with on‑site medical care, community outreach, and emergency preparedness.

Frustrated by slow police and fire response times in the Chinatown‑International District (CID), community members Donnie Chin and Dean Wong created a bilingual emergency line and organized volunteer first‑responders (now known as IDEC) who still protect the neighborhood today.
